THE OPPORTUNITY CHALLENGE

SCROLL DOWN

THE OPPORTUNITY CHALLENGE

The Opportunity Challenge

The Opportunity Challenge is an innovative fundraising challenge aimed at young people between the ages of 10 and 18 to empower and educate them about fighting global poverty.

Starting with a loan of $10 from their parents, kids are encouraged to do what they can to make it grow – perhaps buying a bucket and sponge to wash cars or buying ingredients to bake and sell cupcakes – the ideas are endless.

With the income they earn from their ‘micro-enterprise’, they then pay back the original loan and donate the profits to Opportunity so that together, we can help families in developing countries start their own small businesses, earn incomes and leave poverty behind!

It’s kids modelling microfinance to give microfinance!

School Leaders session

School Leaders session

In early June Michael Sukkar, Stride the Divide patron invited you to come and find out all about this year's "Stride the Divide - Walk for Opportunity". He met with a number of schools in late June and invited them to take the "Opportunity Challenge", a challenge where schools create businesses from scratch and trade their innovative products and services to raise funds for Opportunity International Australia.

Starting with a loan of $10 from their parents, students are encouraged to do what they can to make it grow – perhaps buying a bucket and sponge to wash cars or buying ingredients to bake and sell cupcakes – the ideas are endless.

With the income they earn from their ‘micro-enterprise’, they then pay back the original loan and donate the profits to Opportunity International Australia so that together, we can help families in developing countries start their own small businesses, earn incomes and leave poverty behind through the power of micro-finance.

On August 23rd, Stride the Divide ambassador, the team from Elephant & Co, will be running a morning training session for students from schools all over Melbourne. Students will be given the tools to implement the "Opportunity Challenge" in their schools later in October this year.

This invitation is for your school leaders to attend the half day training session.
